The Czech Republic lost their World Cup qualifier against Spain in Grenada despite taking the lead in 29th minute through Jaroslav Plašil. Spain levelled the score in 69th minute with a goal from David Villa, who added a second four minutes later from the penalty spot after Rezek fouled Iniesta in the box. The goal marked Villa’s 49th international goal and the result leaves the Czech Republic six points behind the leaders.
